What happened to the times when candidates who were job hunting used to dress up for interviews? When the importance of first impressions actually meant something to someone?
Lately, a lot of candidates have been attending interviews dressed in smart casual where gents are wearing khaki pants with polo shirts and cardigans and the ladies are coming in khaki pants with neon tops or dresses that look like they are going out for lunch.
Never underestimate the power of first impressions during the interview process. The reason for this is because even the consultant who is interviewing you will take you more seriously as they will see the fact that you value this interview and will even mention it to the client who is looking to hire. You will always be remembered if you dress well. Elegance is not standing out, but being remembered, and like Tom Ford says, “Dressing well is a form of good manners.”
