Our client, a retail company specializing in cosmetics, is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Branch Manager to oversee operations at one of their retail locations.
Responsibilities
- Drive sales growth by monitoring daily performance against targets and optimizing merchandise displays.
- Lead and motivate the team through daily meetings, setting clear targets, and ensuring effective performance incentives.
- Manage product margins through regular review of Goods Received Notes (GRNs) and strategic promotional planning.
- Ensure strict inventory control with daily stock checks, weekly expiry monitoring, and quarterly branchwide audits.
- Maintain high stock availability (95%+) on key products through efficient Local Purchase Order (LPO) management and collaboration with the Supply Chain team.
- Optimize category performance by analyzing sales data weekly and adjusting product assortment to achieve under 60 days of stock.
- Ensure financial liquidity by overseeing daily cash and weekly payment reconciliations, maintaining creditor days below 30, and managing supplier relationships effectively.
Qualifications
- Must have a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Retail Management, or a related field preferred.
- At least 5 Years experience in retail management, ideally within the cosmetics or FMCG industry.
- Must have strong communication skills with proficiency in English (both verbal and written).
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing and motivating teams to achieve sales targets.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to manage margins and inventory effectively.
- Familiarity with retail operations including stock management, promotional strategies, and customer service best practices.
- Financial acumen with experience in cash handling, reconciliation, and managing financial metrics.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as per retail operation needs.
- Knowledge of local market trends and customer preferences in the cosmetics industry is a plus.
- Somali speaking candidates are preferred.
