Our client, a prominent Agri company in Kenya specializing in the sales of fertilizer products, is seeking to hire a dynamic and experienced Country Sales Manager.

The ideal candidate will lead the sales team to achieve sales targets, involving strategic planning, relationship management, and direct sales activities to grow market share and drive business growth. The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or a related field, at least 10 years of experience in sales management, preferably in the fertilizer or agri-business sector and proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve company objectives.
  • Lead, motivate, and manage the sales team to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Identify and target potential customers in the agricultural sector.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
  • Leverage established relationships to drive sales and expand market reach.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to inform sales strategies.
  • Prepare and present regular sales reports to senior management.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Travel within Kenya and regionally to meet with clients and oversee sales operations.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Agriculture, or a related field.
  • Must have at least 10 years of experience in sales management, preferably in the fertilizer or agri-business sector.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
  • Established relationships within the industry that can be leveraged.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and develop strategic sales plans.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the country and within East Africa.
  • Results-oriented with a strong drive to succeed.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving skills.
