Our client a leading fish farm in Kenya is seeking to hire an Electrical Engineer to be based in Homabay, Kenya.

The successful candidate will be tasked with managing the company’s entire electrical systems, including KPLC, integrated solar systems, and generators as well as design, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment. The ideal candidate Must have a minimum of 7 years hands-on experience in managing electrical systems and equipment preferably at supervisory level and able to relocate to a remote location.

Roles and Responsibilities

Design and implement electrical systems for new projects and upgrades.
Develop plans and specifications for electrical systems that conform to industry standards and meet client requirements.
Evaluate and recommend modifications to existing electrical systems to improve performance and efficiency.
Manage and maintain the company’s electrical systems, including the National Kenya Power grid, integrated solar systems, and generators.
Develop maintenance schedules and ensure adherence to safety procedures.
Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure smooth operation of the electrical systems.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment such as generators, water pumps, blowers, among others.
Develop and implement maintenance procedures for electrical equipment.
Coordinate with Vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of spare parts and equipment needed for repair.
Manage budgets and resources for electrical projects.
Ensure project timelines are met and projects are completed within budget.
Work with other departments to identify and resolve electrical system and equipment issues.
Coordinate with contracts and other vendors to ensure timely completion of electrical projects.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
Must have a minimum of 7 years’ hands-on experience in managing electrical systems and equipment preferably at supervisory level.
Experience in designing and implementing electrical systems for new projects and upgrades.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in using electrical engineering software and tools.
Experience managing an integrated grid-solar-BESS solution a plus.
