Our client, a prominent Agri company in Kenya specializing in sales of agrichemicals, is seeking to hire a dynamic and detail-oriented Finance Manager.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial management of the company, including budgeting, financial planning, cash flow management, and ensuring adherence to accounting standards. This role also involves developing financial models, managing tax regimes, conducting financial analysis, and providing strategic financial guidance to support decision-making processes. The successful candidate must have a degree in Finance, be a CPA(K) holder, and have a minimum of 10 years of experience in a financial management role, with proven experience in the Agri sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the company’s financial operations, including budgeting, financial planning, and financial reporting.
  • Develop and maintain robust financial models to analyze company performance, forecast future trends, and support strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare and monitor cash flow forecasts, budget projections, and comprehensive financial reports to aid in business planning and investor relations.
  • Lead the preparation of financial presentations and proposals for the board of directors and investors, focusing on financial metrics, ROI analysis, and risk assessment.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Manage Kenya’s tax regime, including VAT matters, and liaise with the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) on audits and compliance.
  • Provide strategic financial advice to the executive team and support the development of long-term financial plans.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for the board, highlighting key financial metrics, company performance, and strategic insights.
  • Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as required.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a degree in Finance and be a CPA(K) holder.
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in a financial management role, demonstrating success in managing financial operations and leading a finance team.
  • Proven experience working in the Agri sector.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks.
  • Expertise in building complex financial models and conducting detailed financial analysis.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Extensive knowledge of Kenya’s tax regime, including VAT and dealing with KRA on audits.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively present financial information to stakeholders and investors.
  • Proven ability to prepare comprehensive financial reports and presentations for the board of directors.
