Our client, an all-villa resort set amidst the tropical gardens and white powdery beaches of the Southeast Coast of Zanzibar Island is seeking to hire a Front Office Manager with housekeeping experience.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing Rooms Division operations, including Front of House, guest services, and facilities. The ideal candidate must have a relevant Bachelor’s degree or diploma preferably from Utalii College, a minimum of 5 years of experience in Rooms Division management and front office, preferably in a beach boutique hotel setting and must be willing to relocate to Zanzibar.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Rooms Division operations, including Front of House, guest services, and facilities.
- Oversee Reception, Concierge, Housekeeping & Laundry, Guest transfer schedule, and reservation systems.
- Drive sales initiatives, meet budgetary goals, and KPIs.
- Coordinate with other departments for service delivery.
- Perform Duty Management shifts, uphold code of conduct.
- Prioritize guest satisfaction, adhere to fire, health, and hygiene standards.
- Ensure staff have product knowledge and follow SOPs.
- Manage HR tasks, including leave management, allocate workforce, set targets, and conduct counseling.
- Control stock, revenue, expenses within budget, and maintain Front Office and Guest Correspondence.
- Provide guidance on cleaning procedures, enforce Hygiene and HACCP SOPs, and maintain equipment.
- Promote good relationships, meet deadlines, support staff needs in other departments, and manage leave, and overtime.
- Coordinate HR allocation for a flexible workforce.
Qualifications
- Relevant Bachelor’s degree or diploma preferably from Utalii College.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in Rooms Division management and front office, preferably in a beach boutique hotel setting.
- Proficiency in Front Office operations, room division, reservation systems, and facilities management.
- Must be willing to relocate to Zanzibar.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve targets and maintain high standards.
