Our client a leading nursing recruitment company in Africa who engage committed professionals and connect them with award winning companies abroad is seeking to recruit a General Manager.
The primary role of the job is to ensure the entity’s performance (including but not limited to procurement, operations, business administration tasks, and HR). The job holder will be expected to provide result and solution-oriented work, reporting directly to the board of directors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the overall performance of the business, setting sound financial systems and operational decision-making
- Ensuring that the company is staffed with competent people (i.e. recruitment and training)
- Initiating and applying all the necessary managerial/internal controls
- Assess, manage, and mitigate risks
- Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand for both finances and resources
- Ensure documents and forms are submitted correctly and timely
- Update applicant database daily
- Reconcile and code receipts and banking statements on a weekly and monthly basis
- Maintain quality standards by establishing and enforcing organizational standards
- Ensure applicants understand the importance of timing with immigration paperwork, appointments, and testing and are consistently monitored for compliance
- Build company image by collaborating with customers, government, community organizations, and employees and enforcing ethical business practices
- Liaise closely with the founder and board of directors to ensure best practices and goals are on track
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline
- A strategic, practical, and creative thinker
- Regards honesty and trust as significant personal values
- Organized, accurate, and very detail-oriented
- Commitment to teamwork
- Understands nepotism in the workplace is not tolerated
- Ability to work under minimal supervision while delivering transparent results
- Enthusiastic, diplomatic, and calm under pressure
