Our client, a well-established sisal plantation with operations in Kenya and Tanzania is currently seeking to recruit a HR Manager to be based in their Kibwezi plant.

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources practices and processes. This role involves managing recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and development, and compliance with labor laws.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of HR strategies aligned with organizational goals
  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract top talent and manage the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, interviews, and onboarding.
  • Implement performance appraisal systems and training programs
  • Assess training needs and coordinate employee development programs.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
  • Administer employee benefits programs and compensation structures
  • Alongside the General Manager assist in managing the local administration within the area.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant Bachelor’s Degrees
  • 10 years HR management experience, of which three should have been in a senior office or management role
  • IHRM member
  • Possesses a high level of emotional intelligence
  • Must discrete, professional, and has a demonstrated ability to make sound unbiased judgements
  • Highly organized, efficient, and proactive.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Has strong problem-solving, conflict-handling, and negotiation skills
  • Has a working knowledge of current labour legislation in Kenya
