Our client, a prominent Agricultural company in Kenya is seeking to hire a HR Officer to be based in the office in Nairobi.
The HR will manage the day-to-day operations of the Human Resource at the farm site and manage the administration of human resources policies, procedures, and programs. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a HR officer in the agriculture and/or manufacturing sector.
Key responsibilities:
- Organize, compile, update company personnel records and documentation.
- Assist recruitment of potential applicants based on experience, skills, and education, completing employee documentation, recording data on each current employee.
- Complying with regulatory requirements and ethical standards relating to Human Resource.
- Help organize and manage new employee orientation, onboarding, and training programs.
- Provide documentation of employee attendance, bonuses, and personal time to be used in payroll preparation.
- Address employee concerns with company; including employee safety, welfare, wellness and health.
- Manage employee relations and disciplinary matters.
- Casual management.
- Provide monthly Human Resource related information reports.
Qualifications:
- Must have a relevant bachelor’s degree.
- Must have 5+ years’ experience working as a HR Officer in a fast-paced work environment preferably for the Agri sector.
- Preferably with hands-on experience working and coordinating casuals.
- A member of IHRM.
- Must be well conversant with the labor laws and ethical HR practices.
- Interpersonal skills to form effective working relationships with people at all levels.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to form working relationships with people at all levels.
