Our client, a Fast-growing boutique hotel in Nairobi, is looking to recruit The successful candidate will be required to be a reliable, dedicated, and hardworking individual with a passion for maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. The successful candidate must be keen on maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, supporting the kitchen staff, and ensuring the overall efficiency of kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities.
- Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, and kitchen equipment by hand or using dishwashers.
- Ensure all items are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and stored properly.
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in the kitchen and dishwashing areas.
- Assist chefs and kitchen staff in basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and cleaning ingredients.
- Collect and dispose of kitchen and food waste, ensuring proper disposal procedures are followed.
- Keep inventory of cleaning supplies and notify the supervisor when replenishment is needed.
- Clean and maintain kitchen appliances and equipment.
- Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations.
Requirements.
- High school Certificate or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Steward or in a similar role is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks such as standing, lifting, and carrying heavy items.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding kitchen environment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and order.
