Our client, a renowned manufacturer of premium sports equipment with nearly a century of global service, is seeking an experienced Tool Maker/Machinist to join their team and enhance their manufacturing operations through expert craftsmanship.
In this essential role, the Tool Maker/Machinist will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and repairing high-precision tools critical to efficient production and upholding exceptional standards across the production process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Uphold high standards for safety, workmanship, product quality, and productivity.
- Operate surface grinders, CMC, slithers, lathes, shapers, and milling machines.
- Build, rework, maintain, and repair various tooling and press tooling within the toolroom.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machinery issues to minimize downtime in production.
- Accurately interpret and work from technical drawings, design prints, sketches, and sample parts.
- Maintain thorough documentation of tool modifications, repairs, and preventative maintenance.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and provide training for apprentices.
- Apply knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics to enhance tooling functionality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Production Option) from a recognized institution.
- Proficiency in operating machining tools such as grinders, CMC, slithers, lathes, and milling machines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and design specifications.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics principles for optimal tool performance.
