Our client, a premier electric motor and rotating equipment repair and rewind company, is seeking a diligent and experienced Mechanical Supervisor to lead their mechanical department.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for enhancing operational efficiency, managing workflows, overseeing a team of mechanics, and ensuring optimal organization of tools and materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Improve the efficiency and performance of the mechanical department by optimizing workflows and ensuring quality standards.
  • Supervise and lead a team of 25 mechanics, providing mentorship, training, and support to enhance their skills.
  • Oversee the organization, maintenance, and proper utilization of mechanical tools, lathes, hydraulic presses, and other equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, conduct regular inspections, and implement preventive maintenance strategies.
  • Develop and implement efficient storage solutions and optimize the allocation of raw materials to work orders.
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and collaborate with other departments to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Monitor inventory levels, manage spare parts, and prepare performance reports on productivity, efficiency, and challenges.

Key Technical Skills:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, metalworking (welding), and machining.
  • Excellent precision and accuracy when using conventional measuring tools such as micrometers, levels, and torque wrenches.
  • Hands-on experience in handling ball and roller bearings.
  • Proficiency with oil seals, gaskets, dust seals, and related components.
  • Prior experience with electric motors, alternators, or other rotating electro-mechanical machines is a plus.
  • Experience in commercial refrigeration, including semi-hermetic compressors, is an added advantage.
