Our client a prominent construction company is seeking to hire a Procurement Manager with 4+ years’ experience in the construction sector.

The Procurement Manager will be responsible for procuring materials and goods from suppliers, building and maintaining supplier relationships and ensuring cost-effective purchasing strategies. The ideal candidate must have 4+ years’ experience as a senior procurement officer in the construction industry, a proven track record of cost reduction, commercial minded and strong leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procure materials and goods from suppliers, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, price, and reliability.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to achieve the best value for the company.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure long-term partnerships.
  • Communicate regularly with suppliers to discuss purchases, resolve issues, and improve service levels.
  • Monitor supplier performance and implement improvement plans as needed.
  • Develop and implement strategies for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
  • Analyze market trends and supplier pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Report on cost savings achieved and future savings targets.
  • Create and maintain credit lines with suppliers.
  • Manage the procurement budget and ensure adherence to financial guidelines.
  • Prepare financial reports and analysis related to procurement activities.

Qualifications:

  • Must relevant bachelor’s degree in procurement or supply chain.
  • Must have 4+ years’ experience
  • Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office, procurement and purchasing software.
  • Must have membership of KISM/CIPS.
  • Demonstrated experience in cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
  • Proven track record of managing and leading a procurement team.
  • Strong commercial acumen and self-driven attitude.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented, analytical, organized and possess strong communication and problem-solving skills.
