Regional Business Development Manager (International Renewable Energy company) – South Africa

Our client, an International company in the Renewable energy sector, is looking for a hands on and dynamic to be based in either Johannesburg or Capetown. The successful candidate will be responsible to penetrate the South Africa market and to drive market penetration of the products in various industry sectors – such as agriculture and hospitality, as well as households. He/She will be a strong leader with exceptional sales skills and with proven track record of sales growth. In addition, needs to be strong commercially, but also have strong planning, logistic and project Management skills. Experience in the Renewable Energy sector is an added advantage.

Key Requirements:

  • Ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets are tracked and achieved
  • Help to develop and commonly agree on sales and business development strategies
  • Implement the agreed Sales & Business development strategies
  • Identify new opportunities
  • Manage and develop new client relationships
  • Develop and maintain the sales network for the Company in the Region
  • Communicate and educate renewable energy distributors, installers, and customers in the Region via training (both in-person and remotely)
  • Take charge of after-sales service for the Company in the Region
  • Brand-building and brand maintenance for client manufacturers in the Region
  • Oversee import, export, transport, and warehouse logistics
  • Provide at-the-ready support to the Company in other necessary activities within the Region
  • Provide a bi-weekly report to the Company and, by end of each quarter, review the sales development status within the region
  • Deliver training and commercial presentations


  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in business administration or other relevant subjects
  • 5+years of in Senior Management in a Sales role in South Africa
  • Proven track record in successful business development and/or business management
  • Experience in identifying and developing sales leads through various marketing channels
  • Excellent Leadership, Decision Making and Communication Skills (both written and oral)
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently
  • Positive mindset combined with excellent influencing and collaboration skills
  • Ideally experience and profound knowledge in the renewable energy sector
  • Willing to travel
