Our client an Agri chemicals company is seeking to hire a Sales Executive (Agrichemicals) to be based in Nairobi. The role holder will play a pivotal role in driving sales and promoting the clients’ agricultural products to farmers, distributors, and other relevant stakeholders. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining customer relationships, achieving sales targets, and providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate Must have bachelor’s degree in agriculture, agronomy, agribusiness a minimum of 4 years’ experience of sales in the Agri chemical industry and must be a Punjab or Gujarati speaker.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively identify and pursue new sales opportunities, including prospecting potential clients, generating leads, and closing sales deals to achieve or exceed assigned sales targets.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with farmers, distributors, and key stakeholders in the agricultural sector. Understand their needs, provide product recommendations, and offer solutions to address their challenges.
- Develop a deep understanding of Agri chemical products, including fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, and other agricultural inputs. Effectively communicate the features, benefits, and proper usage of these products to customers.
- Conduct engaging sales presentations and demonstrations to showcase the effectiveness and value of our Agri chemical products. Highlight their impact on crop yield, pest control, and overall farm productivity.
- Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes in the Agri chemical industry. Use this knowledge to identify new sales opportunities and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with the operations team to ensure accurate and timely order processing, coordinating with customers to confirm order details, delivery schedules, and any specific product requirements.
- Provide excellent customer service by promptly addressing customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints. Offer technical support and guidance on product usage, application methods, and best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and sales performance metrics.
- Prepare regular sales reports, including sales forecasts, market analysis, and competitor insights, to share with the sales manager and other relevant stakeholders.
- Work closely with other departments, such as marketing and research & development, to align sales strategies, share market insights, and contribute to the development of new products or product improvements.
- Stay updated on industry advancements, agronomic practices, and product knowledge through continuous learning and training initiatives. Participate in industry conferences, trade shows, and seminars to expand networks and stay connected with industry experts.
Qualifications
- Must have bachelor’s degree in agriculture, agronomy, agribusiness or a related field.
- Must have 4 years’ experience of sales in the Agri chemical industry.
- Must be a Punjab or Gujarati speaker.
- Proven track record in achieving sales targets, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain customer relationships.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with customers, deliver sales presentations, and build rapport.
- A genuine interest in understanding customer needs, providing tailored solutions, and delivering exceptional customer service.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory to meet with customers, attend industry events, and conduct on-farm visits.
- A genuine passion for the agricultural industry, an understanding of farmers’ challenges, and a commitment to supporting sustainable farming practices.
