Our client, a prominent Agri company in Kenya specializing in sales of agrichemicals, is seeking to hire a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Accountant.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of the accounts department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting, financial modelling, cash flow & budgeting, ensuring adherence to accounting standards, manage tax regime and conduct financial analysis. This role requires flexibility to work on weekends when necessary and involves developing financial models, cash flows, and project proposals for investor presentations. The successful candidate Must have a degree in Finance and CPAK, Proficiency in QuickBooks, a minimum of 10 years of experience in a financial management role, demonstrating success in managing financial operations and leading a team and proven experience working in the Agri sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the accounts department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to analyze company performance, forecast future trends, and support decision-making processes.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts, budget projections, and financial reports to aid business planning and investor relations.
  • Lead the preparation of project proposals and presentations for the board of directors and investors, focusing on financial metrics, ROI analysis, and potential risks.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Proficiently manage Kenya’s tax regime, VAT matters, and liaise with the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) on audits.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for the board of directors, highlighting key financial metrics, performance, and strategic insights.
  • Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as required.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a degree in Finance and CPAK.
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in a financial management role, demonstrating success in managing financial operations and leading a team.
  • Proven experience working in the Agri sector.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks.
  • Proficiency in building complex financial models and conducting detailed financial analysis.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Must be proficient with Kenya’s tax regime, VAT matters, and dealing with KRA on audits.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively present financial information to stakeholders and investors.
  • Must be able to prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for the board of directors.
