Our Client, a leading distributor of high-quality perfumes and cosmetics, Spirits, Watches and accessories entering the African Market starting with Kenya, is looking for a The successful candidate will oversee and optimize their supply chain operations and will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end supply chain process, from procurement to distribution. He/She will collaborate with various stakeholders, optimize logistics, and ensure timely delivery of products while maintaining high standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage supply chain relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and terms to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of different categories starting perfumes and cosmetics.
- Monitor supplier performance, conduct regular evaluations, and address any issues to maintain a reliable and high-quality supply chain.
- Develop and implement inventory strategies to optimize stock levels, minimize carrying costs, and reduce product obsolescence
- Coordinate transportation, shipping, and distribution activities to ensure on-time delivery of products to various locations within Kenyan cluster.
- Streamline logistics processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement cost-effective solutions to enhance efficiency.
- Establish quality control measures to uphold product standards and compliance with regulatory requirements in the cosmetics industry.
- Work closely with relevant departments to ensure adherence to quality standards and resolve any quality-related issues proactively.
- Lead and mentor the supply chain team, providing guidance, training, and support to optimize performance and achieve departmental goals.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and finance teams to align supply chain strategies with overall business objectives.
Key skills/Qualifications:
- A Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in supply chain management, preferably within the cosmetics or FMCG industry in Kenyan cluster.
- Proficient understanding of procurement processes, inventory management, logistics, and distribution strategies.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality standards in the cosmetics industry is an added advantage.
- Impeccable reputation and trust is a must in the position.
