Two high-end and recently opened restaurants, belonging to an International Energy company is looking to recruit a for their central Kitchen in Nairobi. The successful candidate must have over 8 years of experience working as a Catering Chef in a high-end restaurant/hotel and have experience managing people.
Key Requirements:
- Managing the staff: training, motivating and structuring the team.
- Ensure the cleanliness and hygiene in the workplace and of the staff are of the highest standard.
- Ensure that food cost levels are maintained as specified in the budget.
- Develop and apply standard operating procedures.
- Ensure compilation of the kitchen Training Plan to meet the business objectives and develop the team.
- Develop and apply standard operating procedures.
- Ensure that food cost levels are maintained as specified in the budget.
- Ensure consistency in food production.
- Be responsible for all production of food items for guests and staff.
- Responsible to keep all equipment in good working order.
- Ensure that cleanliness & hygiene of the workplace and staff are always of highest standard.
Qualifications:
- Must have a degree in a relevant discipline.
- Must have a minimum of 8 years’ experience as a Catering Chef
- A natural leader, with ability to get the best from a team.
- A good communicator, friendly and inclusive, even after a long shift.
- Strong knowledge of high-end restaurant set up.
- Ability to stay calm and collected under pressure, being a calming influence on the team.
