Two high-end and recently opened restaurants, belonging to an International Energy company is looking to recruit for their restaurants in Nairobi. The successful candidate must have over 5 years of experience working as a Head Chef in a high-end restaurant and have experience managing people.
Key Requirements:
- Always immediately and proactively report any issue related to the quality/ freshness of ingredients.
- Guarantees that all ingredients are stored and labelled according to SOPs.
- Verifies personal hygiene standards of all staff during his/her shift.
- Assist the Chef to prepare the team’s schedule to meet quality & operating expenses targets.
- Organizes workflow in the kitchen during his/her shift.
- Guarantees that all menu items are prepared in accordance with the recipes, SOPs & policies n during his shift.
- Coache staff where necessary.
- Ensures all kitchen tasks are performed on time & meeting the quality standards during his/her shift.
- Ensure the cleanliness and hygiene in the workplace and of the staff are of the highest standard.
- Develop and apply standard operating procedures.
- Lead and motivate team members to create a team environment which promotes good employee morale.
- Approves products requisition during his shift.
Qualifications:
- Must have a degree in a relevant discipline.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Head Chef
- A natural leader, with ability to get the best from a team.
- A good communicator, friendly and inclusive, even after a long shift.
- Strong knowledge of high-end restaurant set up.
- Ability to stay calm and collected under pressure, being a calming influence on the team.
