Our client, Africa’s leading provider of carrier-neutral, carrier-scale network infrastructure, developing resilient, end-to-end managed, wholesale connectivity solutions into, out of and within Africa, is looking for an HR Specialist – Talent Acquisition, to be based in either Kenya.

The successful candidate will have a true passion for people and will be responsible for seeking the most talented employees who align in terms of competencies, values, culture and potential to contribute to the company’s competitiveness and long-term future. Proven track record of recruiting for scarce skills roles within the Telecoms Industry for example Network Engineers, Data Centre Engineers, Project Managers, Business Analyst etc is a MUST!

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage job postings across relevant platforms and use diverse sourcing techniques to identify suitable candidates.
  • Build and maintain a strong talent pool through networking and proactive engagement with both active and passive candidates.
  • Conduct thorough candidate assessments via phone, virtual, and in-person interviews to ensure alignment with role requirements.
  • Ensure a positive candidate journey aligned with company culture by providing timely communication and constructive feedback.
  • Partner with line managers and HR to define role needs, provide hiring support, and train on recruitment best practices; manage external agency relations.
  • Oversee salary negotiations, advise on expectations, and communicate job offers effectively.
  • Conduct background checks, ensure process integrity, maintain up-to-date org structures, and report recruitment metrics regularly.
  • Facilitate onboarding, coordinate orientation, and support broader HR functions including employee relations and performance management.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Relevant Certifications, Diplomas or Degrees in Human Resource Management or related field of study
  • Minimum 4 years’ recruitment experience as a recruiter/TA Consultant obtained in an agency or in a fast-paced
  • Experience in drafting job descriptions and International Recruitment
  • Extensive experience in recruiting for scarce skills in general, including senior position within the Telecoms Industry for example Network Engineers, Data Centre Engineers, Project Managers, Business Analyst etc
  • Headhunting or targeted search experience
  • Previous experience with online recruitment portals and programmes
  • Knowledge of Employment Legislation relevant to Talent Acquisition
  • Competency based interviewing
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills, passion for technology and innovation
  • Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and think creatively, mentor, coach and train others
