Our client, a wildlife conservancy with a high-end Lodge with Gardens, is seeking a skilled landscaper to design, install, and maintain the landscaped environments within the property, including shambas, greenhouses, and the garden cottage area.

The landscaper will oversee effective chicken coops, beehives, and the maintenance of tools and equipment, ensuring a beautiful and safe environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and plan landscaping projects, selecting appropriate flora and materials for various areas.
  • Install and maintain landscaped areas, including soil preparation, planting, and shaping vegetation.
  • Ensure effective crop growth in shambas and hydroponics, managing crop rotation and pest control.
  • Monitor nurseries and greenhouses, maintaining optimal conditions for plants and flowers.
  • Oversee chicken coop cleanliness, feed provision, and egg collection for kitchen delivery.
  • Manage honey production, including hive maintenance and bee nest removal.
  • Maintain equipment, fertilize plants, and collaborate with professionals for project completion.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in landscaping within luxury hospitality or tourism sectors.
  • Certificate/diploma in ecology, biology, or landscape design, or relevant experience.
  • Strong horticultural knowledge and proficiency in gardening techniques.
  • Experience with sprinkler systems and landscaping equipment.
  • Familiarity with gardening products like fertilizers and pesticides.
  • Demonstrated design aptitude and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions with physical stamina and reliability.
