Our client, a leading automotive dealership network in Australia, is seeking skilled and experienced Panel Beater/Motor Vehicle body repairers to join their growing repair and bodywork team.
This hands-on role is critical in restoring vehicle bodywork to manufacturer standards after accidents or damage. The ideal candidates will have a keen eye for detail, a strong commitment to quality workmanship, and proven experience working with both Japanese brands like Toyota and European car makes such as BMW, Audi, and Mercedes-Benz.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect damaged vehicles and assess the extent of structural, body, or mechanical damage.
- Remove damaged panels and components using cutting tools or hand tools.
- Repair, replace, or realign vehicle panels, chassis, and frames.
- Smooth out dents using specialized tools such as hammers, dollies, and planishing machines.
- Weld or bond new panels into place.
- Fill, grind, and sand repaired surfaces in preparation for painting.
- Work closely with spray painters, mechanics, and other team members to ensure timely and quality repairs.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and comply with health and safety regulations.
- Keep up to date with modern repair techniques and tools.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a panel beater or in a similar automotive repair role.
- Proficiency in using panel beating tools and welding equipment.
- Solid understanding of vehicle structures and repair techniques.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings or repair manuals.
- Physical stamina and strength to handle tools and heavy vehicle parts.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Relevant trade certification or apprenticeship is a plus.
