A leading safari and adventure group specializing in providing unparalleled wildlife experiences in some of the most breathtaking locations across East Africa, is seeking an experienced, proactive Sales Manager dedicated to developing visibility and reputation within the resident market segment in Kenya and Tanzania together with the wider Pan African resident market.
The ideal candidate will transform the company into the preferred safari brand for resident market travellers, capitalizing on the significant untapped opportunities within the segment. As the company continues to grow their presence in the East African luxury safari market, they seek to strengthen their connection with resident markets, including diplomatic missions, NGO’s, United Nations personnel, corporate clients, incentive groups and individuals.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy targeting resident market segments
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in diplomatic missions, NGO’s, UN agencies, corporate entities, incentive groups and individual residents
- Create tailored safari packages and experiences that appeal specifically to resident market preferences
- Represent the company at relevant networking events, exhibitions, and functions frequented by target demographics
- Organize and conduct sales presentations, property visits, and familiarization trips for potential clients
- Collaborate with marketing to develop targeted promotional materials and campaigns
- Track market trends and competitor activities within the resident market segment
- Provide regular reports and analysis on sales activities and market developments
- Maintain accurate records in the company’s CRM system
Skillset/experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field (MBA may be beneficial but not required).
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in luxury hospitality or tourism sales, preferably with exposure to the East African market
- Proven track record of developing new business relationships and meeting sales targets
- Established network within diplomatic circles, UN agencies, corporate sectors, or resident communities in East Africa (highly advantageous)
- Strong understanding of the luxury travel market and safari industry
- Excellent presentation and negotiation skills
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to business development
- Proficient in MS Office and CRM systems
- Valid driving license and willingness to travel regularly within Kenya and Tanzania
- Cultural sensitivity and awareness
