Senior Accountant – Nairobi, Kenya

Our client, a floriculture trading Company based in Nairobi is seeking to recruit a . Reporting to the Finance Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for accounting, control, financial planning, and the preparation of monthly and annual reports. The ideal candidate Must have over 7 years working experience with at least 3 years in a Managerial role.

Key Requirements:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Accounts department.
  • Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures.
  • Supervise, coach, and train the Accounts staff.
  • Generate Gross Profit reports on a weekly and Periodic basis and present them to management.
  • Prepare weekly Suppliers & Debtors aging reports.
  • Prepare payroll monthly.
  • Ensure all general ledger accounts are updated in a timely manner and are accurate and reconciled monthly.
  • Ensure all overheads are properly booked in the system.
  • Review Balance Sheet reconciliations on a quarterly basis
  • Support the Finance Director in preparing management accounts and year end audit preparation.
  • Review and monitor performance versus the budget and reach out to teams to offer advice and guidance where need be.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and legal requirements.
  • Continuously identify possible areas of improvement within the department to increase efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • CPA (K) qualification.
  • 7 years’ experience with 3 years in managing a team.
  • Experience working with SAP B1 will be an added advantage.
  • Working knowledge of Tax laws and Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Strong financial analysis skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and stress management skills.
  • Ability to communicate well, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to train and manage a team.

Salary: Monthly Gross salary: Ksh 250,000 – 300,000 (Approx. 1396 USD - 2094 USD)depending on experience and qualifications.
